Dear friends in Christ,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

Hearty welcome to the website of the Christian Education Department of the CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese!

“Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise.” (Deuteronomy 6:6).

“Our children are not our own. They are the gift of God. They must be nurtured to extend the gifts of God.” (Kahlil Gibran, Lebanese Christian poet cum writer).

Christian Education Department of the Diocese aims at systematic education for all parish family members to foster the kingdom values and faith perspectives in each generation. Christian nurture is an important ministry entrusted to the Church by our Lord. Sunday School is an arena under the Christian Education Department, to initiate Christian nurture in our tradition to the children of our parishes. Our meaningful encounter among children will bring home authentic generation that walks according to the will of God. History testifies that Sunday School classes shaped the character of many children and brought out good qualities in them. That means, the teachings in the Sunday School classes has an impact in the formation of a child. We can envisage future church in today’s children.

We are living in a world where children are facing different issues and going through pressures from different segments of the society. Media as well as friends forced them to imitate many things.  Even the children below the age of twelve years, both boys and girls, are under the clutches of different types of addictions. Christian nurture is the need of the hour to help our children to stand firm on the foundations of Christian faith.

Let us join our hands together to teach the Word of God to our children and inculcate Kingdom values among them. Kindly open a space for all our children between the age group 3-18, to study in Sunday School. We need partnership of dedicated teachers, parents, church and children to continue the Sunday School ministry.

May the loving God strengthen us to continue our faith journey and to mould children through Christian nurture.

In Christ’s service,

Jiji John Jacob Achen
